ESSC & Middle School Thursday Ski Days
We would like to remind parents and guardians of a few things:
Skis are to be dropped off here at the school, in the trailer in the shed, before 7am on Thursday’s or
dropped off at Attitash Mountain, either in the trailer or along the fence by the Children’s Lodge
before 12pm.
Make sure students are prepared to be outside for the afternoon. Pack extra gloves, socks, snacks, etc.
When picking your child up at the mountain they need to be picked up BEFORE 3:15pm. When
picking up your student, DO NOT block the entrance by the newly installed Handicapped signs.
Pull
ahead to one of the open parking spots to the left of the Children’s Lodge.
If your child is taking their regular bus home they will be arriving at their stop earlier than usual.
Please plan about 10 minutes earlier.
Once your child has been dismissed to a parent or guardian, school staff and volunteers are no longer
responsible for them.
Nurses Corner
There are currently many different illnesses circulating through our school (Influenza, Gastrointestinal
(stomach) virus, COVID-19, Fevers, and Cough).
Please keep your child home if they are sick. NH DHHS recommends staying home for 48 hours after the last
episode of vomiting or diarrhea. School Policy is to stay home with vomiting and fever, and not to return until
fever-free for 24 hours (without medication).
When keeping someone home, please let the main office know for attendance purposes, and let the nurse know
so she can keep track of illnesses occurring in school, and be able to keep everyone updated.
Masks are available in the front office and nurse’s office. Consider wearing one when not feeling well, or for a
few days after an illness to help reduce the spread. Also, practice good hand washing at home and school (wash
for at least 20 seconds-sing Happy Birthday X2).

JBES Wellness Committee
We are rebooting our Wellness Committee at JBES. This committee will focus on nutrition, physical activity,
and total overall wellness of JBES students and staff. This committee is open to the public and will meet on
January 30th, 2024 at 8:00am at the school. If you are interested in joining please contact Sara Rodriguez,

Bartlett Recreation Happenings!
Basketball
3/4 Coed Skills and Drills will start Tuesday January 30th 3:15pm-4:40pm. The dates for 3/4 are Jan. 30t ,
February 6th, 13th and 27th.
We are still looking for a coach for 1/2 Skills and Drills for 1 day a week in March after school! Please contact
us if you are interested!
Jr. Nordic Skiing
Jr. Nordic Skiing will start Monday January 29th at Bear Notch Ski Touring.
MWV Youth STEM Expo Updates
GOING FORWARD, WE PLAN TO MEET EVERY WEDNESDAY. It is right after school till late bus in the
former Parent Liaison Room in the 3rd Grade wing. There will be a snack provided. This is a great opportunity
for the students to get some additional guidance on their projects. This is a fun way for children to learn about
something they are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math areas.
PLEASE BRING YOUR CHROME BOOK. We will begin researching. If you can’t make it every Wednesday,
no need to worry, we will do a makeup day, but you are strongly encouraged to attend. Any questions, come see

2024 B.E.A.R. Summer Program
Our program and staff each week will provide crafts & activities, workshops & presenters, weekly trips, ice
cream day, beach days and more! This program is open to children entering grade 1 through grade 7 in the fall
of 2024. We strongly encourage you to only enroll 7th graders who truly want to be in the program. The camp is
a 6 week program and will run July 1st
-August 9th. Registration will open at the end of February.
